Last week Great Sankey High School students took part in a week of events, workshops and lessons as part of our 2022 Literary Festival. During the week we were delighted to welcome authors Curtis Jobling, Alan Gibbons and Sally Green into the school to give presentations and hold writing workshops for students in Years 7, 8 and 9. Students in Year 10 and 11 attended theatre performances of Macbeth and An Inspector Calls.
G Brighouse, Assistant Headteacher said "We are very proud to have provided the opportunity for over 1000 students to have visits from authors, for over 750 students to experience a Shakespeare production and over 750 students have had the opportunity to watch a live performance of a twentieth century classic. Providing these cultural opportunities for our students is important and we hope helps to inspire a lifetime love of literature."
